No problem right? You press the unlock button or touch the indent on the handle and the opens. Nope.
I tested my other key and that didn’t work either. Must be the key battery right? Great, change it.
But The Batteries And Tools Are At Home…
…and i’m stuck in the carpark of a supermarket!
So, How Do I Get In The Car?
You can either open the car with the physical key, although be warned that your alarm will go off. Ideally you have the app set up so you can unlock the car by tapping the lock on the screen.
The handle should pop out so you can get into the car. However, when you try to drive the car, you get 2 messages. 1 on the main screen saying the car cannot find the key…
And “No valid key found” will pop up quickly on the speedo display.
Open the arm rest and place the key…
…right at the front. There’s a hidden physical key reader just underneath.
The warnings will now disappear and you’ll be able to drive the car. This works even if you have no battery in the key at all.
You can drive home, test your 2nd key and change the batteries.
I Opened The Car With The Key And The Alarm Is Going Off!

The alarm will turn off and you’ll be able to drive the car.
