If your 450 cabrio roof does a lot of clicking and not much opening, chances are the drive cog that pulls the roof cables has worn so it is slipping over the cable.

Remove the interior covers to access BOTH motors, 1 on each side. Using a Torx25 bit, remove the 3 bolts for each motor.

Pull the electrical connector straight down.

Don’t pull by the wires.

The motor will pull down and out very easily. Give it a good clean…

…and the same with the cable guide. This part will get really gummed up with shit.

This was the problem motor. You can see the wear in the centre of the teeth.
