I bought an old 451 wishbone just to do the ball joint fitting guide. However, even though I have done a wishbone bush replacement guide for the 450 and Roadster and it’s exactly the same as the 451, the bushes were so bad that I had to replace them too.

Look at the state of them!

It had even begun to retreat all by itself.

I didn’t realise Aquaman even owned a car.

What About Just Fitting A New Wishbone?

Unless your old wishbones are rusted through, damaged or bent, don’t bother with aftermarket wishbones. They are thin, shit and don’t align the wheels properly.

If smart still sell new ones, the part number is A451 330 00 10

If your old wishbone just needs new ball joints and bushes, keep your old wishbones and just change the failed parts.
