The Bosch Highline Doesn’t Have A Video Input Does It?
Turns out it does but since nothing is connected, let’s see what normally happens.

Press the MENU button.

Press the Video icon.

Press the Player icon.

You’ll get a black screen for a while and then…

…if the handbrake is off, you’ll get this warning message but this can be over-ridden – click.

If the handbrake is on or you bypass the safety feature, you’ll be told there is no video signal available.

However…
Ilya G told me to test C15 for video data and C16 for video ground.
So I got a spare reverse camera and wire it as above and applied voltage and earth to power it. This is what I got.
A flickering image…. but it was an image.

Ilya believes that the camera has to be a lower quality than the ones we used. You have to consider that the Bosch Highline was released in 2010 and the screen resolution is a terrible 234 x 400 pixels.
The next suggestion was to try a CVBS camera as they are old generation crap that uses “Composite Video Blanking and Sync”, an older analog technology for transmitting video as a single signal over coaxial cables.
Problems
Apart from the obvious quality of the image at the moment, even if you do get a proper image, it won’t be very good.
The secondary issue is that it won’t automatically select the reversing camera when you go into reverse. It doesn’t look like there is a connection on the rear the can accept a reversing trigger.
Have A Try And Let Me Know
If you play with this idea and get anywhere, take photos and let me know. I did buy a CVBS camera but haven’t had time to experiment any further.
