The air conditioning compressor is fairly easy to see. It’s right on the top rear of the engine.

Removing it is not so easy. Lower the engine and remove the AC belt.

You’ll see the compressor on top with a sleeved cable coming from it.

Trace the cable back and you’ll find a green connector. Disconnect it.

There’s a bracket bolted to the engine that holds the compressor in position. Remove the E12 bolt that joins the bracket to the compressor.

Look underneath the compressor pulley and you’ll see the pivot bolt. Remove this too. Try not to lose the nut on the far side of the bolt.

You aren’t going to confuse which bolt went where.

Pull the compressor off of the pivot and remove it from the car.
