The old smart brochures had a table of stuff that explained what model had what features.

Yep, don’t get it. Pay the little bit extra and get the other stuff. For the addition 4 grand, you get so much more. Don’t buy the Pro+ and then start emailing me asking how to retrofit all the other shit. This model has also been range limited in software to make up for the lack of heat pump. Battery Chemistry
The rumours are that the cheapest Pro+ version has a cheaper LFP (LiFePO4) battery as opposed to the NMC in the other versions. Although LFP has a lower power density for the cell size, it’s a far less reactive chemistry (so safer if damaged) and can be charged to 100% and is cheaper to produce. NMC on the other hand (if many experts are to be believed) should ideally only be charged to 80% for cell longevity. However, we don’t know if the 80% is already baked into the car’s software and that voltage is shown as 100%.
What’s The Difference Between Premium And Launch Edition?
The Launch Edition is £500 more expensive and for that, you get a car that looks like a racing hearing aid, a horrendous colour interior, chequered seats and a checkered roof. Save yourself the money and get the option to spec your car in a decent colour.
Apple CarPlay And Android Auto?
Originally no but on the 22nd of November 2023, an over the air update was sent out (smart OS 1.3.0) which added the features.

Elf?
Because of some some strange translations between Chinese and English, the sellers on AliExpress seem to think it’s called the Smart Elf #1 when it came out.
When the #3 came out, they started calling it the Smart Spirit #3.
The word is
精灵 – jīnglíng
And this is translated to “elf” when using Google translate but it can also mean wizard, genie, fairy, spirit, sprite, clever thing, genius or….. SMART.
