Working on cars over December is what I normally do as I’m off work. However, there are issues of doing this. Firstly it’s bloody cold in my workshop and electricity costs too much to waste heating the work space. We had snow on the ground for 5 days. Secondly, I’m always unwell in December. Thirdly, deliveries are shit normally and this is worse when Royal Mail are striking. Fourthly, the local smart parts department does a lot of being closed over Christmas.
I did 1 visit to smart and ordered the parts I thought I needed. Apart from the dashboard, it all turned up in 4 days. 2nd hand parts from other sellers took longer. Headlights were unavailable from smart at the time! I lost 1 trim piece and found 1 broken clip. By this time it was too late to order them. So the car got repaired right up to not being able to put the front panels on to take it for an MOT. Bloody annoying.
So, I have taken about 1000 photos to be edited, just not now. Here’s the stuff that I had time to add.
