What Do The Lights Mean?

There are 12 LEDs in an arc over the top of the dash pod. If you don’t know what they mean, they could look random.

However, it’s not random but the info it tells you isn’t exactly important or interesting.

It’s just showing how much power you can draw from the battery during acceleration, or put back into the battery with regeneration.

When your car is fully charged, you will probably see 8 LEDs on the right of zero and no LEDs on the left of zero.

As soon as you start driving, the left side LEDs will start to illuminate.

One by one until…

…they are all lit. This normally happens very quickly, (under 1 miles).

The easiest way to understand the lights is to see what the needle does as you drive and how the needle movement is tied to the light position.

So, when you stamp on the accelerator and pull away quickly, the needle will go over to the right. The needle will never go passed the LEDs. If your battery was incredibly low, not all of the lights would be lit. The amount of power you could draw from the battery is limited to 75%, 50% or 25% so the needle wouldn’t go passed the right side LEDs, indicating the lack of available battery power.

Alternatively, when the battery is fully charged, it can’t use regeneration to charge the battery any more so the needle wouldn’t go passed the 0 point on the dial and you’d get no regeneration at all.

As the LEDs start to light up as you use the power from the battery, regeneration will allow the needle to move left but it won’t go passed the final illuminated light.

So, there you go, it’s just showing how much power you can draw from the battery during acceleration, or put back into the battery with regeneration.
