Option to preheat the battery before charging.
Car wash mode stops the automatic wipers, closes the windows, folds the mirrors, disables proximity lock, disables alarm, turns the heater to recirculation, disables gesture tailgate, locks the charge port cover.
Hand wash mode stops the automatic wipers, closes the windows, disables proximity lock, turns off AC, screen cleaning mode, entertainment mode, disables gesture tailgate, locks the charge port cover.
Valet mode logs out your profile ID, enter visitor mode, disable bluetooth, voice control and multimedia functions.
Emergency lane keep assist switch.
Seat slides back when you open the door and slides back to position when you get back in the car.
Online service switch fixed so the option doesn’t turn itself off.

The roll out of this update was stopped in early August due to bugs.

Turn off regeneration so the car can coast.
V2L – Vehicle to load allows you to plug 240v electrical items into the car’s charging socket and use the HV battery to power the item.
New equaliser settings (vocal and boosted) added to Launch Edition, Premium and Brabus models.

Easy entry options. (driver seat position movement) can be set to either door closed or brake pedal pressed.

How To Install An Update

Occasionally, when you get in the car and start it, the person in the screen will tell you that an update has been downloaded and is ready to install. You can confirm this and the screen will show a 2 minute countdown. In that time you need to shut the car down, get out and lock the car. The boot and bonnet must also be closed or the update will be cancelled. Go in the house and treat yourself to a relaxed non-rushed poo. The update should take a maximum of 10 minutes and when you go out, the car should be updated.

The Update Failed

I had this with 1.4.1. You start the update but when you come back, it says it has failed. It will NOT attempt to update again. So you will have to contact smart to get them to resend it.

I Didn’t Receive The Update

I had the same with 1.5.0. I kept waiting but it never came through. You will have to contact smart to get them to send it.

Time Limit

Imagine my surprise when I gave up waiting and contacted smart to be told it was too late to send it over the air. According to a customer service agent from smart, after 4 weeks of release, they can no longer send the update over the air. That means you have to take it into a dealer for an update.

Dealer Update

Yep, you may have to have the “over the air” update done at a dealer. It should be free and shouldn’t really take more than 30 minutes to do. So book in and abuse the free biscuits and tea.

Contacting Smart

If you open the Hello Smart app on your phone. Swipe up, tap “Talk To Smart” and choose your contact option.

I went through WhatsApp. You get through to a bot 1st. Keep answering the questions and eventually you get through to a real person.
